OROP Pension table 2023

OROP stands for the One Rank One Pension policy of the Indian government.  The scheme was first launched in the year 2015. The scheme aims to provide an equal amount of pension for military personnel who have retired from the same post, irrespective of their retirement year.

Prior to OROP, military pensions were calculated based on the pay commission recommendations of the place of posting at the time of retirement. This meant that pensions for personnel who retired in different years at different places following different pay commissions could be significantly different, even if they held the same rank and had the same length of service.

Benefits of the OROP Pension Scheme

Some of the most significant benefits of the One Rank One Pension OROP scheme are listed below:

  • Through this pension plan, the department has advocated for equal pension distribution among service personnel.
  • The 2013 retirement pension base will be used to recalculate the pension for former retirees.
  • According to this strategy, the difference between the department’s current pension and the pension rate that is applicable to retired employees should be closed.
  • A baseline average was determined for the minimum and maximum pension for retired army personnel in 2013 with the same rank and comparable years of service.
  • However, the agency will protect above-average pensions.
Additionally, beneficiaries’ pensions will be updated every five years. Then, to give the qualified individual, other crucial traits must be eliminated.

OROP Revision Table 2023

The petition for an extension of time for the OROP Scheme Pension Arrears Payment until March 15, 2023, was followed after the Union Cabinet approved the idea of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) Revision.

The OROP Scheme states that the future pension of past pensioners will be assured based on the minimum and maximum pension averages of retired officers in the Defense Force in 2018 who held the same rank and duration of service as the past pensioners. It was further informed by a press release that the family members of the late pensioners, war widows, and disabled pensioners will also get the benefit of this scheme.

I, Jc-210437L Sub Maj X group Bikrama Jit Singh retired on 31May 2005 on superannuation after completion of 31 years of service and 52 years of age. At that time my basic pension was fixed to Rs. 7538/= which was the highest basic pension of that rank because Sub Maj retiring after completing 31 years to 34 years of service were getting the same basic pension. Similarly under orop-1 my basic pension was fixed to Rs. 14348/= which was again the highest basic pension of that rank and all the Sub Maj of that group were getting the same basic pention but under orop-2 my basic pension has been fixed to Rs.38925/= which is not the highest basic pension of that rank. The highest basic pension is Rs. 39925/=. In view of the above it is requested that my basic pension may please be got fixed to Rs. 39925/= which is the highest basic pension of that rank. Thanking you.

why is the HSC not able to implement its own order to pay OROP installment in one go? why did they not pull up the government for contempt of court? why did they even agree to the petition of the govt asking for more time to pay arrears, even when submission was made that the government is misleading the court with regards to fund availability to pay arrears even when government was given 4 years time to finalize the calculation?????

There is something fishy about orop2 especially JCOs as there is negative growth of pension and there has been some policies under which pension were fixed and granted have been withdrawn resulting anger’s among defence retirees now. It facilitated protests on every pat of India also protest has been continuing at Jantar Mantar Delhi for rectification of Table no 7 and 8.
